Job Description
We are looking for a Paralegal / Senior Paralegal to join the Abercrombie & Fitch Legal Retail Operations team and provide support on a broad range of global legal and regulatory matters, including product claims, pricing and promotions, product regulatory compliance, sustainability, store operations, and overall marketing and advertising issues. This Paralegal / Senior Paralegal will be an integral member of the legal team and will report to the Sr. Legal Counsel of Retail Operations.
This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing?
Conduct legal research and summarize findings of global statutes, regulations, and pending legislation and litigation for attorneys on consumer protection, product safety and compliance, sustainability, pricing and promotions, and marketing/advertising
Support compliance with various consumer protection matters, including gift card terms and website terms
Support the customer service team in addressing general customer concerns and complaints
Support the sourcing and merchant teams in addressing general product claims initiatives and concerns
Coordinate with internal departments regarding a wide range of other legal matters impacting the Company
Manage the team’s training calendar on an annual basis
Support our global store operations teams by providing guidance and support for compliance with rules and regulations impacting our company owned stores throughout North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
Review and organize legal documents such as template NDAs
What Do You Need To Bring?
3+ years of corporate paralegal experience in a large law firm or in-house legal department of a publicly‑traded company
Licensed Ohio notary
Bachelor’s degree or related experience preferred
Prefer candidates with working knowledge of requirements, best practices, processes and procedures related to general in‑house legal operations issues and initiatives
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Highly proficient in multi‑tasking, prioritization, organization, and succinct and business‑friendly verbal and written communication
Proficiency in administrative IT platforms, including SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools and billing systems
Ability to work independently with limited oversight
Ability to engage in different substantive aspects of the business everyday
Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information with diplomacy and discretion
