Overview
The role as a Foreman is leading, mentoring, and monitoring installations of water/wastewater piping and equipment, while ensuring work is performed according to Clark Construction standards and project specifications. A Foreman is responsible for maintaining productivity, quality control, labor cost, scheduling, safety, and acquisition of materials and any other activities that impact the success of completing a project. When necessary, the Foreman should be able to perform hands-on installation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Water Foreman

Manage jobsite crew to accomplish daily tasks
Read and understand construction drawings to install piping and mechanical systems
Direct the install of hangers, wall supports, and floor supports to adequately support all piping systems
Direct crews in cutting, threading, and glueing of the pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, pipe cutters and pipe threaders; maintain detailed knowledge of standard industry practices
Ability to do layout, install, and assemble piping and equipment per detailed drawings and specifications, including pulling dimensions from key building features and maintaining proper elevations
Perform piping system validation using pressure testing techniques, including pneumatic and hydrostatic testing as necessary
Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules using knowledge of project scope and personnel
Engages in problem solving with team members and other personnel on a construction site to ensure installation is coordinated and meets customer quality expectations
Operate and supervise the use of equipment and machinery such as forklifts, man lifts, and power tools
Ensure all company safety policies and procedures are followed to the highest standards
Ensure crew members start and finish work shifts on time; maintain proper meal/break times per Employee Handbook and legally required labor laws
Ability to write Daily Progress Reports and prepare Weekly LAH schedules
Conduct effective performance evaluations of crew members
Involved in planning daily activities and writing daily progress reports
Responsible for weekly LAH (look ahead) scheduling
Ability to train and mentor other team members
Physical Demand and Work Environment
Lift 50 lbs from the ground and pull 50 lbs of force
Work off of ladders, scaffolding, man lifts, and the ability to work at heights
Skills and Experience
5+ years of experience installing process mechanical piping systems and equipment in water/wastewater
2+ years of foreman experience
Working knowledge of materials and installation of these systems within the water/wastewater construction industry
Solid understanding of construction drawings, ability to understand specifications and installation methods
Experience operating skid steer and rough terrain forklift
Able to work Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed; must be flexible with schedule
Ability to instruct and motivate a team
Physical Demands The physical demands described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role on a construction site. This role requires significant physical exertion, including navigating active construction areas with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and personnel hoists. Constant standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks are required daily. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing over 50 pounds with assistance. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching (above and below shoulder level) are required. Visual acuity and adequate hearing are required to read instructions, operate equipment, and stay safe in a noisy environment.
Work Environment The work environment is typical of Clark Construction sites and may include exposure to extreme weather, moving mechanical equipment, high noise levels, dust, fumes, vibrations, and electrical hazards. Work regularly occurs at heights and in confined spaces. The employee must work safely around heavy equipment and construction traffic. The noise level is typically loud; appropriate PPE and adherence to safety policies are required. This role may require working more than 40 hours per week due to project deadlines and client requirements.
