KPMG is currently seeking a Trade & Customs Associate - FTZ to join our International Tax practice.
Responsibilities
Conduct research and provide advice to clients, in a variety of industries, on Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), import and export compliance matters
Analyze import/export data in support of global trade projects such as: customs duty savings assessments, trade compliance reviews, and global trade management (GTM) system implementations
Serve as a valued member of the FTZ service delivery team and the GTM system implementation team
Support FTZ clients with validating data, implementing, testing, and using GTM solutions
Provide clients with guidance on requirements of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and participating government agencies (PGA) for import, entry and export transactions in an FTZ environment
Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget, maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations and satisfaction
Qualifications
Minimum one year of import/export experience, with strong working knowledge of FTZ processes, compliance activities, and operations, including PGA reporting and other import/export matters such as the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, free trade agreements, entry processes, valuation and informed compliance methods
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; a Certified Public Accountant, Juris Doctor, or a Master's degree in international trade is preferred
Previous experience using FTZ Inventory Control and Recordkeeping Systems and/or FTZ processing is preferred
Experience using and/or implementing Global Trade Management (GTM) systems, including system testing and training
Strong technical skills with the ability to conduct in‑depth reviews of import/export data using data and analytics (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Access)
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
