GENERAL FUNCTION As an EyeCare Advisor you create exceptional value by delivering the LensCrafters Experience. You ensure each patient receives the highest quality Optometric care, support the key performance indicators of the store, and act as the connector between the doctor and retail functions.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Greets customers promptly (within 30 seconds).

Answers the telephone within 3 rings in a friendly and courteous manner.

Explains all required paperwork, tests, products and services.

Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully, identifying special needs and consulting with Optician, Managing Doctor or Retail Management when necessary.

Shows patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult customers and patients.

Performs work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume.

Identifies unsatisfied customers and acts quickly to resolve issues.

Demonstrates knowledge of appointment book/scheduling procedures and computer operation.

Handles and files all patient records in an organized manner in accordance with HIPAA.

Places contact lens orders, processes shipments, and submits invoices for payment.

Operates the POS system, entering customer/patient and prescription data accurately.

Collects proper payment following company security procedures and retains proper change for all transaction types.

Explains “One Hour” processing and expected delivery times to customers.

Takes pride in the appearance of the store and ensures visual displays meet company guidelines.

Maintains a safe working environment for all associates and patients.

Responds quickly to promotion changes with appropriate staff communications, graphics, and PO materials.

Retail

Displays strong product knowledge and accurately describes features and benefits of lenses and frames.

Assists customers in selecting frames and lenses that best suit vision, lifestyle, and budget.

Doctor’s Office

Performs all pre‑examination testing with accuracy and care.

Explains all measurements and answers patient questions.

Provides coaching on contact lens care and handling.

Maintains and disinfects contact lens inventory and supports the Optometrist as needed.

Basic Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.

Strong customer‑service skills.

Knowledge of current fashion trends.

Strong communication and listening skills.

Problem‑solving ability.

Familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators.

Organizational skills.

Sales skills.

Basic math skills.

Knowledge of office and store merchandise.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous customer service, retail, and/or optical experience.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Pay Range USD 18.90 – 27.27 per hour (location dependent).

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. Employees may also receive a bonus and/or commission plan that complements a first‑class total rewards package, which can include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and employee discounts.
