Job Summary The Inside Sales Representative supports day-to-day operations of the Customer Service team in promoting sales, obtaining orders, and providing service to customers. Utilizes product and application knowledge to develop solutions, grow relationships with customers and suppliers, manage projects, process orders, coordinate deliveries, handle returns, run reports and resolve customer and order issues.
Responsibilities
Receive and enter orders accurately and timely.
Optimize margin and service through efficient use of cross-docking, transfers, drop-ship, etc.
Provide price quotes to customers and create bills of materials from take-offs.
Manage projects.
Provide consistent and timely follow-up on customer inquiries and order status.
Secure pricing from vendors, coordinate deliveries, and expedite deliveries when necessary.
Process returns to maximize value.
Develop solutions to meet customer needs using product knowledge and best practices.
Source material and provide value to customers.
Build and nurture relationships with customers and suppliers.
Run daily reports and resolve customer and order issues.
Assist customers with billing issues.
Non-essential Functions
Assist with and provide training as needed.
Attend sales and product meetings, trade shows, and technical training programs as needed.
Input TCCM cost savings documentation for assigned customer base.
Participate in and advise sales management on implementation and success of marketing plans and strategies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate degree in business/trade preferred or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of customer service, city desk, or sales experience.
3+ years of electrical distribution experience preferred.
Technical ability to understand electrical systems.
Proficiency with PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), internet, and email.
Knowledge of SAP software preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent customer service skills – competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to plan and organize effectively.
Physical Requirements Typical work activities include sitting, standing, walking, bending/stooping, climbing stairs, reaching, kneeling, balancing, repetitive motion, pivoting, pushing/pulling, grasping, fingering, talking, driving, desk work, use of computer and telephone, hearing, exposure to adverse weather. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs. is expected; lifting more may occur occasionally.
