Outside Sales Representative (Retrofit Lighting)

Responsibilities
Build and manage a robust pipeline within your assigned territory across Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Virginia & West Virginia.
Assess potential clients for retrofit viability, budget alignment, and strategic fit.
Prospect high‑value targets through cold calling, market research, and referral channels.
Communicate with stakeholders in face‑to‑face meetings to identify and understand their needs and suggest solutions.
Demonstrate customized retrofit proposals including lighting controls, ROI analysis, and rebate incentives tailored to stakeholder needs.
Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management, resolving post‑sale issues.
Maintain communication with existing and past customers, alerting them to new products, services, and enhancements to generate repeat business and referrals.
Utilize Salesforce for sales planning and opportunity documentation.
Develop and expand product knowledge through Wesco and supplier training.
Collaborate with audit, solutions, and operations teams to deliver high‑value proposals.
Manage the full sales process from lead generation to contract execution.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior sales experience required; outside sales experience in lighting, controls, or energy services preferred.
Two years of industry experience preferred.
Ability to travel to current and potential stakeholders (25%–50% of the time).
Ability to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
Knowledge of energy rebate programs and consultative sales techniques preferred.
Working Environment Outside Sales – Work is primarily performed in an office, but the employee may need to travel to customer sites or warehouse facilities. Driving may be required for extended periods with frequent stops and starts. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
