Part‑Time RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I
Zurich Insurance is seeking a Part‑Time RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. This position is based in Georgia (virtual office), requires a home‑based office, and is scheduled for 20 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours. Approximately 50% travel is expected to cover the territory.
Ideally, candidates live or service within a 50–60 mile radius of Albany, Valdosta, Tifton, Cordele, or Bainbridge.
Responsibilities
Complete field inspections with minimal supervision, reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields and storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex, non‑routine claims.
Convey complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry stakeholders.
Perform fact finding regarding crop damage, record information, and transmit loss information to accurately determine potential indemnities.
Gather relevant facts, utilizing applicable law and establishing basic principles of negligence.
Complete claim reviews and audits on lower‑level adjusters as assigned.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
Contribute to team projects and related results as needed.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent and a minimum of 6 months experience in the agricultural area.
Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) required and must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Physical ability to walk up to 3 miles in fields, climb storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25–50 lbs, and work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organization and prioritization skills.
Prior experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Compensation The proposed hourly range for this position is $20.96–$28.75, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 5%.
