SAIC is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to support the U.S. Coast Guard’s enterprise data modernization and analytic transformation efforts. This role is embedded within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment at USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC , working alongside data scientists, product owners, researchers, and mission stakeholders.
This role is onsite full‑time and does not have the opportunity for remote work.
The Graphic Designer will develop compelling visual products that communicate the Coast Guard’s data strategies, sprint outputs, analytical insights, and modernization initiatives. This includes designing executive‑level presentations, data storytelling products, infographics, branding elements, communication artifacts, and visual frameworks used across USCG ODA.
This position plays a critical role in shaping how the Coast Guard communicates its vision, mission impact, transformation progress, and data‑driven outcomes.
All candidates will be required to provide a portfolio prior to an interview.
Key Responsibilities:
Design high‑impact graphics, infographics, charts, and visual storytelling products for senior Coast Guard leaders and mission partners.
Create polished executive presentations that clearly articulate complex data and technical concepts.
Develop visual branding, templates, and communication products that support ODA’s identity and messaging.
Partner with UI/UX designers, data visualization specialists, data scientists, and sprint leads to transform analytical results into visually compelling products.
Support agile sprint reviews, program updates, and stakeholder engagements with on‑brand graphic materials.
Maintain consistency with DHS/USCG style guidelines, accessibility standards, and the ODA communication strategy.
Illustrate conceptual frameworks, workflows, system architectures, and “as‑is / to‑be” transformation visuals.
Provide rapid‑turn creative support for leadership briefs, concept papers, strategic roadmaps, and program artifacts.
Assist in developing communication collateral for ODA—including posters, one‑pagers, campaign graphics, and digital media.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communication arts, visual communication, or related field (or relevant experience) and six (6) years’ experience; additional six (6) years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
Clearance Requirements:
Must possess an active Interim Secret security clearance for consideration, with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
Required Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and presentation design tools (PowerPoint, Figma, or similar).
Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
Some experience with and/or knowledge of motion design (e.g., Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro).
Strong creative portfolio demonstrating good use of typography, grid‑based design, white space, and color theory.
Demonstrated ability to turn complex technical or analytical information into clear, elegant visuals.
Experience supporting senior executives or producing polished, branded deliverables for high‑visibility audiences.
Strong communication, requirements‑gathering, and iterative design skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting DHS, USCG, DoD, or other Federal clients.
Familiarity with data visualization concepts and design principles.
Experience working in agile sprint environments or modernization efforts.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and government style guides.
Experience developing branding systems, iconography, and communication campaigns.
An online or PDF portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
