Job Summary
The SEO Manager will be responsible for defining and executing a world-class organic search strategy that drives profitable, high-quality traffic and customer acquisition. You will be the architect of our multilingual SEO framework, ensuring our content is discoverable, trusted, and contextually relevant in every language we support, while proactively positioning iHerb for the emerging landscape of AI-driven search experiences.
Job Expectations
Global & Multilingual SEO Leadership
International Strategy: Design, implement, and manage a holistic SEO strategy that scales across 180+ countries and all product categories.
Localized SEO: Lead optimization across supported languages (36+), ensuring relevance in regional engines like Google and Naver.
Technical Compliance: Oversee hreflang, locale-aware architecture, and regional link building.
Market Intelligence: Conduct deep dives into high-priority markets (Japan, South Korea, MENA, Europe) to uncover search behavior, competitor tactics, and new keyword opportunities.
AI, LLM, and Generative Search Optimization
Future-Proofing Search: Develop pioneering strategies for visibility in the age of Generative AI.
Semantic SEO & Structured Data: Implement advanced semantic SEO, schema markup, and structured data.
Content Authority: Establish guidelines that position iHerb’s product information, blog, and reviews as industry-leading.
Scalable Technical & Programmatic SEO
Technical Roadmap: Own and execute the roadmap, driving improvements in performance, crawl budget, indexing, and mobile-first optimization.
Product & Engineering Alignment: Partner with Product Managers and Engineers to translate requirements into deployable solutions.
Automation: Identify and automate repeatable processes for high-leverage international growth.
Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven ability to develop and execute technical SEO strategies for millions of pages/ SKUs.
Deep expertise in common SEO tools (Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Analytics).
Experience with localization challenges (hreflang, CC-TLDs, content translation vs. transcreation).
Strong understanding of AI and LLMs changing behavior and passion for positioning a brand for the future of AI search.
Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear strategies.
Strong leadership, communication, and global stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
Equipment Knowledge
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred.
Experience Requirements
5+ years in Search Engine Optimization, with minimum 2 years focused on large-scale international/multilingual e-commerce SEO.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
Anticipated Pay Scale
$80,000—$110,000 USD
