Family Medicine Residency Program Director Outside Chicago

Job Description

Northwest Health in Valparaiso, Indiana is seeking a Program Director for our ACGME accredited Family Medicine Program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for medical education and training residents combined with a strong focus and commitment to ensuring patient care remains a priority.

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% administration and 50% clinical duties.
• Must have 3+ years of academic medicine experience as a Program Director or Core Faculty.
• Oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education is maintained.
• Establish strategic direction of the program, its standards, quality, and reputation of the Family Medicine Residency program as followed by faculty and residents.
• Residency program practice management, overall residency operations, and resident oversight.
• Program recruitment, interviews, and selection of residents; six residents are welcomed per year.
• Recruit and oversee faculty and clinical rotations.
• Maintain ongoing clinical activity in Family Medicine, consistent with ACGME guidelines.
• Teach residents through clinical and didactic work.

Requirements

• Board certified in Family Medicine.
• Clinically practicing physician.
• Documented educational and/or administrative experience required.
• Experience in graduate medical education required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to effectively deal with a broad range of people and personalities.
