Engineered Systems & Products Inc. is seeking to fill a position for an outside sales engineer to cover the central & northern Virginia territory primarily. The individual selected will be involved in sales & support of liquid process equipment, including (but not limited to) pumps, blowers, valves, etc. The primary responsibilities are for sales to an established customer base while expanding into new customers. Position Responsibilities

Duties:

Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers and other trade factors such as OEMs and engineering/contractors within the prescribed territory or markets. Personally visit customers in the territory regularly and report to the sales manager. Adjusts the content of sales presentations by studying the customer or trade factor. Focuses sales efforts by researching existing and potential customers to stay abreast of activities as they relate to future business opportunities. Cold call potential customers while in areas visiting existing customers. Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature. Communicated with the sales manager and represented the company’s regional sales managers on the territory’s sales potential and customer activity by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, e‑mails, and telephone calls. Promote ESP’s capabilities in the area of represented and allied products, product integration, field service, and repairs. Assist promotional efforts through the use of e‑mail, literature fulfillment, and line cards. Handle territory customer inquiries, produce accurate quotes, and verify purchase order accuracy. Design and engineer systems and integrated packages to meet customers’ applications and specifications, and meet expectations. Oversee the production of detailed design drawings to support the sales effort and order fulfillment as necessary. Provide customers with technical product application, knowledge, and maintenance support. Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, etc. Positively represent ESP to current and prospective principals and allied business stakeholders. Recommends changes in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments. Attend product training meetings and trade shows as required by ESP. Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making management recommendations. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending training and educational workshops as well as trade shows as required; reviews professional publications; establishes personal networks, and if desired, participates in professional societies. When in the office, responsibilities include telephone and e‑mail customer contact for replacement equipment, parts, repairs, and service. Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales. Contributes to team effort by assisting customers outside of territory when colleagues need assistance or are out of the office, or your skill set will assist in closing a sale. Requirements

2 years’ experience in industrial equipment sales. (a bonus but not required) Superb organizational and time management skills Prompt and regular attendance with the ability to work 40‑50 hours a week Good customer service and communication skills Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and dependable vehicle.
