We are seeking a driven professional to join our sales team in managing route responsibilities, up‑selling and cross‑selling, and delivering superior customer service. The position reports to the District Manager and is a full‑time role eligible for base salary plus commission.
Job Summary The Route Sales Representative meets our customers’ needs through proactive account management, ensuring a profitable product mix and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Solicit new customers and upsell/cross‑sell all lines of service or product to achieve profitable sales.
Participate in promotions, contests, training, and audits; meet performance goals regularly.
Follow company policies for installation, customer needs, and service delivery; maintain all procedures and documentation.
Build customer relationships, educate customers, and resolve concerns proactively in cooperation with supervision.
Safely operate a delivery vehicle on each trip, adhering to all applicable laws and company policy; maintain vehicle cleanliness and conduct regular inspections.
Handle and process customer payments; keep route paperwork current.
Ensure timely and correct deliveries of textile loads, pick up soiled textiles, and maintain proper inventories; service facility maintenance products.
Monitor and report competitive activity; renew service agreements as required.
Return from route and unload soiled textiles in the receiving area of the facility.
Accurately prepare route paperwork and follow check‑in procedures; perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
Additional Functions
Support other service personnel as needed.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license; CDL when applicable.
Clean driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding, or safety violations.
Minimum one year of safe driving experience; strong vehicle operation skills.
Excellent customer service and route sales skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; good time‑management; ability to follow directions; team player.
Accurate counting, addition, and subtraction of product quantities; color and size recognition.
Education
High school graduation or equivalent experience.
Travel Requirements
Daily delivery by vehicle within assigned route.
Typical Environmental Conditions
Operating vehicles on public roads, loading areas of industrial laundry facilities, or service centers.
Indoor and outdoor work at industrial facilities.
Typical Physical Activity
Requires sitting, grasping, driving, stooping, climbing stairs, moving carts up to 500 lbs, lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, walking, writing, speaking, and hearing.
