Job Overview A Carter Lumber Millwork Sales Representative identifies sales opportunities and completes sales for millwork projects. The role involves calling target customers, visiting job sites, and assisting clients with product knowledge. Strong commitment to the company’s mission and objectives is essential.

Responsibilities

Identify target customers, make calls, visit job sites, and assist customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Develop customer relationships, follow through on commitments, and maintain consistent communication.

Create and present proposals to general contractors and builders for millwork components.

Assist with take‑offs and communicate scheduling and delivery commitments.

Collect and keep up‑to‑date information on customers’ product use and trends.

Determine appropriate credit program based on customer needs.

Conduct job‑site visits when product quality issues arise and provide solutions through troubleshooting.

Keep lines of communication open between store team members and customers to ensure accurate and timely service.

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience selling interior and exterior millwork products, including Andersen windows/doors, Sierra Pacific, and aluminum‑clad or premium lines.

Experience in interior casework sales and design.

Field experience in the millwork and construction industry.

Ability to read blueprints and contract documents to provide complete take‑off and proposal.

Strong understanding of specifications, codes and product submittal process for millwork projects.

Strong understanding of the millwork construction schedule process and ability to plan shipments to meet deadlines.

Ability to review scope of work in awarded contracts.

Demonstrated ability to create new sales opportunities, maintain successful business relationships and improve profitability.

Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and able to meet deadlines.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Region & Travel Coverage: Myrtle Beach and Charleston regions. Reliable transportation is required as 80% travel is expected.

Compensation Salary + Commission. Meets and/or exceeds sales and profit goals by following up on sales leads, monitoring market trends, and growing the positive reputation of the company.
