Job Summary:
Oversee a group of Territory Managers (TMs) to achieve sales, penetration, and churn reduction objectives within the district. Provide coaching, training, and development of TMs while managing budget, operating plans, and district sales activities. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive account growth and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Direct TMs in closing, penetrating existing accounts, and pursuing new account acquisition within the district.
Develop and maintain long‑ and short‑term sales plans; coach TMs in effective action planning aligned with AOP and company goals.
Guide TMs to high‑quality leads, assist in lead warming, and support high‑potential account development.
Submit and manage annual street sales operating plan, budget, and related expenses; track performance against the plan.
Leverage the Sales Coordinator role to reduce administrative tasks and resolve TM and customer issues.
Coordinate product cuttings, demonstrations, and marketing proposals; conduct market research to address customer needs.
Communicate sales data and plan district sales meetings and events with Marketing and Merchandising.
Use Sales Foundations tools and processes to grow sales and maintain customer service standards.
Recruit, train, and mentor new hires and existing TMs; conduct field support sessions and recommend training.
Assess TM performance, establish performance improvement or disciplinary measures, and provide organizational support.
Stay current on industry trends, product developments, and maintain industry contacts to drive prospective sales.
Develop targeted customer lists, make sales calls, and conduct Customer Business Reviews to identify needs and gaps.
Assist in customer/delivery alignment and driver engagement.
Ensure compliance with Company policies within the sales department.
Maintain appropriate staffing to minimize turnover and ensure effective sales execution.
Education / Training Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience • Minimum five years of foodservice sales experience. • Minimum two years of supervisory experience. • Overnight travel may be required for training, meetings, or other company events.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, and presentation skills.
Proficient computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Licenses Valid driver's license required.
US Foods will not consider candidates with a DUI conviction for drug or alcohol within the last three years. Other license history will be reviewed against company standards.
Benefits & Compensation Expected base salary: $75,000 – $120,000. Eligible for incentive pay and various benefits including health insurance, pre‑tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
