Assistant Property Manager

Salary: $44,500 per year

Total weekly hours: 37.5

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Senior Communities is currently seeking an Assistant Property Manager to manage the community in the absence of the Property Manager. The role serves as the first point of contact for applicants, residents, family members, and vendors. The Assistant Property Manager assists in orienting and training new employees and supports the Property Manager in coordinating daily housing functions to provide quality housing and services to residents. Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Manage the waiting list and application process.

Conduct initial, interim, and annual recertification interviews and prepare paperwork for review.

Obtain and review required reports from the Enterprise Income Verification System (EIV).

Maintain applicant and resident files, ensuring completeness and accuracy per regulatory agencies and ACC policies and procedures.

Assist the Property Manager in monitoring day-to-day building operations.

Maintain accurate records and submit required reports on schedule to ACC and funding agencies.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education & Experience Requirements

High school diploma and two years’ experience in the assisted housing industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient computer skills in a Windows environment and willingness to learn new software.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, identify and resolve problems, and work with culturally diverse populations.

Work independently and as part of a team; comply with government and funding regulations; meet deadlines; organize and prioritize work.

Certification & Licensure

Certified Occupational Specialist, Tax Credit Manager or equivalent certification must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment.

Requirements & Abilities

Successfully manage multiple priorities with frequent interruptions; listen attentively, communicate clearly, make decisions, exercise sound judgment.

Interact effectively with culturally diverse populations and the elderly.

Follow oral and written directions, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, organize and prioritize work, project a professional image, work independently and as a contributing team member, and remain calm during demanding circumstances.

Responsible for intake and processing of applications to the Housing Division with discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment; act independently within scope of authority or seek assistance when needed.

Remain flexible to changing department needs and adhere to agency policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Repetitive motions affecting wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Ability to move freely throughout the building, including traveling to nearby sites as required.

Lifting 20 lbs. on a regular basis.
