Overview
The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store(s). They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store.
Responsibilities
Identify incidents of theft and fraud and take appropriate action in accordance with store policy and procedures.
Review CCTV and exception reports to detect loss and irregular activities.
Monitor the store's physical security and audit Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems.
Drive a shrink elimination culture in the store by supporting asset protection and operational initiatives.
Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence as required.
Interact with law enforcement and testify in criminal and civil court actions as needed.
Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carry out job responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to self, other associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.
Demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates while remaining focused on store-specific business objectives.
