Senior Construction Manager – Cherokee Federal
The Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) is responsible for providing responsive, flexible full‑Spectrum installation engineering services. AFCEC’s missions include facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support, real property management, energy support, environmental compliance and restoration, and audit assertions, acquisition, and program management. AFCEC conducts operations at more than 75 locations worldwide. Cherokee Nation Defense Solutions (CNDS), a part of Cherokee Federal, is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to support AFCEC’s mission.
Responsibilities
Provide responsive, flexible full‑Spectrum installation engineering services.
Perform a broad range of technical review and advisory/assistance for AFCEC design and construction projects across the Air Force.
Prepare and review statements of work, cost estimates, submittals, and requests for information.
Provide project status updates, assessments, evaluations, analyses, reports, presentations, and management‑level project cost and schedule reviews.
Participate in virtual and on‑site design, contract acquisition, construction meetings, and on‑site inspections as required.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or closely related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience within the last 20 years in Air Force or Department of Defense (DoD) facility and infrastructure military construction project management execution.
Knowledge of DoD design and construction policies and standards.
Working knowledge of military construction and renovation projects.
Excellent critical thinking, multi‑tasking, and communication skills (oral and written).
US citizenship and valid U.S. passport required.
Travel as needed, including CONUS and OCONUS.
Strong understanding and working knowledge of Air Force Civil Engineer (AFCEC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), or Naval Facilities Command (NAVFAC) policies, processes, and procedures as military Design and Construction Agent (DA/CA) at project level.
Familiarity with federal A/E design and construction and experience oversight of A/E design and construction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Autodesk AutoCAD 2013, and ability to read and understand CAD drawings, old blueprints, and facility/project specifications.
Must pass a federal background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
Must pass pre‑employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
Estimated starting salary range for Senior Construction Manager: $110,000 to $118,000. Pay is commensurate with experience. Full‑time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and other possible benefits as provided.
