The successful candidate for this role must be a versatile, self-driven, dedicated, team player with willingness to cross train to assist where needed through-out our sales team. The individual will have a strong desire to assist with growing our business and ensuring our customers receive upfront and clear communication. They must have the ability to quickly learn the complete Uncle Ray’s line, work in a fast-paced environment, be well-trained in product knowledge as well as freight options so they can provide quick and accurate assistance to our customers.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate company sales functions within the defined region
Develop and implement both short- and long-range goals and objectives for each account and distributor within the defined region
Identify and develop new and existing customers for products and market segments
Manage major accounts within the region and coordinate the management of all other accounts
Utilize market specific data to develop strategies and plans which identify sales opportunities, support, and implement sales plan for new project development
Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales efforts
Develop and manage sales budgets
Participate in distributor, retailer, and industry Trade Shows as needed
Ensure the proper use of Company Point of Sales and communication material
Oversee the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, displays, exhibits, and promotional programs in defined area
Work with the management team to stay updated on product knowledge and be informed of any changes in company policies
Primary contact for Distributors, Retailers and Brokers within a defined region - responsible for communicating up to date information on new products and product/packaging changes
Researching and understanding the competitor landscape in the defined region
Must maintain a high level of professionalism and work to establish a positive rapport
Provide customer information as needed to internal sales team, accounts receivable, and controller
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma/GED required
Must have 5+ years of experience selling to and managing retail customers and distributors.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to successfully work and achieve goals with a minimum amount of direction and possess a “strong planning skill” to manage business in defined territory
Position requires travel up to 75% of the time to meet with customers, overnight travel will be required, occasional weekends will be required due to trade-show schedules
Position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime when needed
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office -- Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Possessing strong interpersonal skills, and commitment to working with a diverse staff are essential to successfully carry out the duties of this position
