Group Account Manager – Eli Lilly
Job Summary
JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Group Account Manager to lead the business relationship with Eli Lilly. The role is remote and requires up to 50% travel, both domestic and international. The successful candidate will define sales targets for the account, support the implementation of account plans and frameworks, and collaborate closely with Hitachi's Global Marketing & Sales division to translate customer needs into profitable solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage medium‑ to long‑term account and sales plans, protecting, growing, and diversifying the relationship with Eli Lilly.
Identify and pursue solution, cross‑up, and repeat sales opportunities across multiple Lines of Business.
Resolve customer problems and ensure high‑quality customer service.
Develop client retention and profitable growth strategies.
Lead all commercial aspects of JR Automation Business Unit and the relationship with Eli Lilly, including pricing negotiations and pipeline management.
Develop Hitachi cross‑BU customer account plans and share‑of‑wallet growth actions.
Set up and drive a solution‑selling approach across all Hitachi businesses.
Coordinate sales activities within CRM, monitor current projects, and resolve specific customer issues.
Understand key business drivers and interpret opportunities for Hitachi.
Create value for the customer and Hitachi by ensuring a coordinated sales approach.
Assume profitable order and sales pipeline responsibility for the account.
Summarize market developments, competitors, and requirements feedback.
Adhere to Hitachi's core values of safety and integrity, ensuring solutions meet objectives of social innovation and contribute to an inclusive, sustainable society.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or business discipline. MBA is a plus.
In‑depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.
Established relationships or experience with Eli Lilly is a strong preference.
10+ years of sales and/or marketing experience with success growing large accounts through cross‑functional and divisional synergies.
Cultural sensitivity and openness to work across all time zones.
Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time, domestically and internationally.
Fluency in English required; Japanese proficiency is a great plus.
Experience navigating large, global enterprise organizations is a plus.
