WHAT YOU’LL DO As a CNA/QMA, you'll serve in a dual role, providing hands-on care and assisting with medication administration depending on resident needs and your shift assignment. You’ll play a vital part in helping residents maintain comfort, safety, and health while also ensuring accurate documentation and communication with the care team.
Direct Resident Care (CNA Responsibilities)
Assist with daily hygiene: bathing, oral care, grooming, skin care, nail/hair care. Support toileting and continence care, including perineal hygiene and changing incontinence products. Dress/undress residents and assist with mobility, including ambulation, ROM exercises, and using assistive devices. Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration; monitor intake/output. Make beds, change linens, and maintain clean resident rooms. Promptly respond to call lights and provide support with daily living needs. Observe and report changes in resident conditions. Accurately document care provided and participate in shift hand-offs. Medication Administration & Care Oversight (QMA Responsibilities)
Administer medications and minor treatments per physician’s orders and facility policy Prepare med carts, follow drug schedules, and maintain proper documentation Observe residents’ post-medication and report reactions or concerns. Maintain medication inventory and collaborate with nursing for PRN orders. Supervise resident care and guide CNAs in care delivery on your assigned unit. Make rounds, update care plans, and monitor compliance with care goals. Complete documentation including 24-hour report forms, I&O records, weekly summaries, and resident updates. Additional Duties May Include:
Administering G-Tube/J-Tube medications, diabetic testing, dressing changes, Sitz baths, oxygen setup. Collecting urine and fecal specimens. Supporting restorative nursing care. Assisting in other care areas when not passing medications. WHAT YOU NEED
Education & Certification
Completion of the 105-hour Indiana Nurse Aide Training Program or equivalent. Active CNA certification in good standing with the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry. Experience
Previous long-term care or senior living experience preferred, but new grads are welcome. Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of medical terminology and elderly care needs. Patience, empathy, and professionalism - even in challenging situations. Basic computer proficiency for electronic documentation. Equipment You’ll Use
