Overview

The Account Executive interacts with clients daily while developing and maintaining relationships with clients and carrier representatives. The Account Executive prepares applications, specifications and marketing strategy for new business as well as renewals of assigned clients with supervision and approval from a Supervisor. This role may require taking on the lead consultant and primary point of contact for assigned clients. The Account Executive may have revenue goals and/or client retention targets.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carriers and wholesalers
Works with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients
Ensures accurate information such as updated exposures, driver information, reporting forms, signed endorsements and related details to avoid E&O claims
Maintains a diary (follow-up system) to ensure policies, endorsements and other information are received to comply with requests
May supervise or direct the daily activities of Coordinators and Account Managers
Builds and maintains strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and client visits, and communicates industry trends and regulatory issues
Knowledge, Skills, And/or Abilities
Excellent written communication; clear writing, grammar accuracy, and ability to tailor style to needs; presents numeric data effectively
Self-confident with the ability to make sound independent decisions
Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people
Strong leadership skills
Ability to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports
Technical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Calm, courteous, and professional demeanor
High attention to detail and strong decision-making and problem-resolution skills
Education And/or Experience
BA/BS preferred
Typically more than 5 years of industry and product line experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
P&C Insurance License required
CIC, CPCU or other P&C designation preferred

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 – $115,000, determined by factors including experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level, scope of position, and geographic location. The position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
