LUX Catering & Events
Overview
LUX has been part of Salt Lake City’s event scene for almost 30 years. We’re known for bringing people together through great food, genuine hospitality, and events that feel intentional from start to finish. Now, we’re looking for a
Sales Manager
to lead our award-winning sales team with energy, passion and results-driven focus. This role is about more than numbers. It’s about building relationships, empowering a talented team of Event Producers and driving growth while protecting what makes LUX special—our culture, our hospitality, and our people. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to coach a team while building a strong book of business, this is the role for you. Responsibilities
Lead, train, and mentor our sales team to hit goals while keeping collaboration and hospitality at the center. Conduct regular sales trainings that spark new ideas, drive business, and strengthen client relationships. Manage Hubspot dashboard, metrics, and reporting to ensure the sales team stays consistent. Build and sustain strong client relationships through consistent, professional, and genuine communication. Oversee the full client journey—from tastings to proposals, invoices, menus, design concepts, and event logistics. Partner with our culinary, operations, and design teams to ensure every detail reflects LUX’s high standards. Balance multiple projects and priorities without losing sight of client care or team connection. Secure Commitments: Obtain event contracts and retainer payments before handing off to the production teams, ensuring a smooth transition. Maintain your own book of business, actively prospecting, building new relationships, and nurturing existing clients. This includes networking, managing leads, and closing business that supports both your goals and the team’s overall success. Manage Project Timelines: Keep clients updated on deadlines and ensure timely payments, maintaining a structured approach to each event. Qualifications
5+ years in catering or event sales (off-site experience preferred) and 3+ years in a management role. A proven track record of leading teams with inspiration, accountability, and results. Strong understanding of food, wine, and spirits; degree in business or event management preferred. Excellent communicator, highly organized, and detail-oriented with Google Suite and event software knowledge (Caterease or similar). A book of existing client relationships is a plus. Professional, approachable, and able to connect with a wide range of clients and colleagues.
