Work Arrangements Hybrid work arrangement. Expect to work in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) at any of the following locations: Frisco, TX; Houston, TX; King of Prussia, PA; Chicago, IL; Franklin, TN; Overland Park, KS; Greenwood, CO; Brea, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Walnut Creek, CA; San Fran, CA.

Overview Supports Commercial Underwriting in the sales acquisition process. Provides support for new business and renewal policy account coordination, review, essential services, rating, and preparation of work orders for quoting and issuance of middle‑market business. Serves as the point of contact for agents in handling inquiries and requests. Communicates with customers to request needed information and resolve problems.

Responsibilities

Sales Support : Assist the Underwriter throughout the sales acquisition process, coordinating accounts, new business and renewal policy essential services, ordering reports, preliminary classification of new business, and data collection. Review and prepare work orders for rating, issue policies, and apply screening criteria per guidelines. Communicate with customers to obtain required underwriting information and resolve issues.

Workload / Desk Management : Handle high volumes of transactions while balancing quality and timeliness. Work alongside the Underwriter to manage a book of business, multi‑task, prioritize, and manage daily activities. Organize work based on AM/UW huddles, agent recognition, and territorial differences to ensure efficient workflow and prompt customer response. Maintain an effective pending/diary/follow‑up system.

Qualifications

Prior Commercial Market Insurance Industry experience as an Account Manager, Rater, or similar at an insurance carrier or agency.

Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, Auto, General Liability, and Property coverage.

Functional knowledge of Commercial Lines rating.

Strong customer‑service and relationship‑building skills.

Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Good automation skills and technical proficiency.

Professional demeanor and ability to work autonomously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to shift work efforts quickly and make decisions in a fast‑paced environment.

For full‑time, part‑time or remote positions: high‑speed broadband Internet required. Minimum upload/download speeds of 75 MB download / 10 MB upload. Internet provider‑supplied modem/router/gateway must be hard‑wired to the Hartford‑issued computer with an Ethernet cable.

Compensation Annualized base pay range: $59,200 – $88,800. Base pay may vary based on market analysis, performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies. Additional rewards may include short‑term or annual bonuses, long‑term incentives, and on‑the‑spot recognition.
