Job Summary As a Commercial & Industrial Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling water treatment applications to business customers. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with customers, providing ongoing support and handling service issues. Our customers span many industries, including schools, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, car washes, food & beverage, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical companies.
Responsibilities
Grow the existing customer base, prospect local businesses and new construction projects, follow up on incoming sales leads, research new building projects, bid on projects, establish and maintain professional relationships with engineers, contractors, construction managers, and business owners/operators.
Partner with customers to determine the best water solutions based on their business needs, starting with water analysis and a review of system requirements. Help customers increase equipment life span, save money on chemicals, reduce downtime, and enhance water quality.
Consult with customers on product application and installation using a consultative, customer‑focused sales approach that sets Culligan apart from our competitors.
Represent Culligan’s product offerings: water conditioning, water softening, reverse osmosis, bottle‑less coolers, deionized services, parts and repairs, and service contracts.
Conduct business‑to‑business cold calling.
Provide customers with flexible financing options, including purchase, rental, or lease.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a sales/mechanical repair field.
2‑3 years experience in a related role, preferably with water treatment equipment.
Preferably B‑to‑B sales experience, especially in a franchise environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or technical drawings.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including PowerPoint proficiency.
Frequent travel (up to 50%).
Compensation
Up to $85,000 per year base (depends on experience) plus uncapped commission.
