Overview
TÜV SÜD America is seeking a Sales Hunter Account Executive to support the Plymouth, MI EMC lab’s Automotive, Transportation and other market operations. This position will require a strong partnership with the existing dynamic sales team as well as the lab technical experts and operations team. The successful candidate will maintain a strong working knowledge of regulatory compliance regulations and International (ISO/EN/FCC/ICES/SAE/MIL-STD/RTCA/IEC) and Customer/OEM specific specifications, OEM product standards. Sales markets could include: automotive, medium-heavy trucks, off-road, powersports, construction/agriculture/mining, marine, aero/defense, medical devices, commercial/industrial products. Location:

Responsibilities
Develop new customers and markets not currently served by the Plymouth or TÜV SÜD sales and operations team.
Develop strategic plans for business growth in the assigned region and execute them to meet sales targets across revenue, profit growth, and increased market share.
Expand existing customers’ book of business and proactively win new business with both existing and new customers in regions defined by regional and national management.
Respond to customer requirements with tailored solutions covering a portfolio of compliance services.
Build relationships with clients as the technical liaison from pre-sales booking toward being the customer’s trusted advisor.
Conduct customer discovery discussions to understand and document business needs and regulatory requirements for optimal solutions.
Draft internal test plans based on domestic and international product standards to develop quote responses.
Develop, tailor, and deliver technical presentations as needed.
Stay informed of changes to international/OEM test standards, test methods, and policies; share knowledge with clients.
Participate in automotive and standard organizations and industry groups relating to product compliance.
Share technical, industry and customer insights with the operations team.
Own and manage quotation generation from allocated accounts; handle inquiries via phone, email, and website.
Identify and provide solution-based packages from TÜV SÜD’s service portfolio.
Generate quotations and proposals quickly using the CRM tool and manage follow-up activities to convert quotations to orders.
Compile and validate prospect lists and maintain CRM records.
Conduct site visits to meet with engineers developing products that require evaluations and testing.
Add value to customers by listening to their requirements and understanding their compliance needs.
Enter key information into the business project management tool once quotations become projects.
Work in service areas including Automotive EMC Testing (Full Vehicles and ESAs), RF/Wireless Testing and Global Certifications, Electrical Safety Testing, Military EMC Testing, RTCA EMC Testing, International Compliance and Global Market Access, with related complementary areas such as EV Battery testing.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least five (5) years of experience in or around an EMC or Electrical Test Lab.
At least five (5) years in a business development/“hunter” sales/account management role delivering EMC and/or RF/wireless services in a TIC environment with demonstrated new business results.
Experience in a service environment and/or project management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong working knowledge of Automotive EMC test requirements; transplant OEM specs are a plus. Experience across automotive components, IT, consumer goods, machinery, lighting, laboratory or equipment is beneficial.
Laboratory-based product testing knowledge within TIC or related experience with product qualification against standards (e.g., ISO 11452-2, ISO 10605, IEC 60601-1-2, FCC/EU RED Wireless Standards).
Understanding of practical financial issues and business fundamentals; awareness of key profit drivers.
Excellent communication, customer focus, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
Strong organizational skills and customer-driven mindset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and basic knowledge of CRM software.
