Job Summary The Sales Executive drives new merchant acquisition, portfolio growth, and revenue expansion across payment, merchant services, and surcharge‑based processing programs. The role identifies, engages, and closes new merchant accounts that meet underwriting, compliance, and profitability thresholds, collaborating with Operations, Risk, and Support to ensure smooth onboarding.

Key Responsibilities
Source, qualify, and close high‑value merchant accounts through outbound prospecting, networking, partnerships, and referral channels.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned with company revenue goals.
Conduct discovery, needs assessments, and solution positioning tailored to the merchant’s processing environment.
Deliver compelling presentations and proposals that communicate the company’s value proposition and pricing models.
Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for new merchant activations, transaction volume, revenue contribution, and portfolio retention.
Maintain detailed and accurate activity logs, merchant notes, tasks, and pipeline metrics inside the company CRM (e.g., Monday.com, Salesforce, or HubSpot).
Collaborate closely with the CRO to refine market strategies, pricing structures, and vertical‑specific outreach plans.
Partner with Operations, Implementation, and Customer Support teams to ensure smooth merchant onboarding and activation.
Collaborate with Risk, Underwriting, and Compliance teams to ensure that all accounts meet internal guidelines and bank requirements.
Provide ongoing insights to Product and Leadership teams regarding merchant needs, industry trends, and competitive activity.
Serve as the primary point of contact during the sales cycle, ensuring merchants clearly understand their responsibilities, pricing, contract terms, and deployment requirements.
Shepherd merchants from approval to activation and maintain strong communication during the early lifecycle to maximize retention and first‑90‑day performance.
Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, partner events, and virtual sales opportunities.
Uphold the highest standards of ethics, accuracy, and professional conduct in all sales activities.
Maintain strict adherence to company confidentiality, data protection, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications Required
Minimum 2 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in merchant services, payments, banking, or fintech.
Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding sales quotas in a competitive environment.
Strong understanding of transaction‑based revenue, interchange models, and payment processing fundamentals.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficient in CRM usage and pipeline management.
Self‑motivated, independent, and capable of thriving in a fast‑paced sales organization.
Preferred
Experience selling high‑risk or specialty vertical payment solutions.
Prior knowledge of surcharge programs, ACH processing, POS systems, or fintech integrations.
Existing portfolio or relationships with merchants, franchise groups, or industry partners.
Experience with cannabis‑friendly or multi‑vertical merchant acquisition strategies.
