What We Need We are looking for a quota-driven, internally-motivated, Sales Professional with proven success building trust-based relationships with clients while also juggling detail-oriented sales administration tasks. A successful candidate will have some experience with technology sales, ideally within networking and/or security, and a healthy sense of competition.

Our new Account Manager will manage dozens of commercial and SLED accounts primarily in the Southeast. Commercial accounts will have a focus on financial and healthcare industries. The role will include managing and growing relationships with some existing accounts as well as acquisition of new accounts. Sales team members have both customer-facing and administrative tasks. The successful Account Manager will ultimately learn a breadth of IT and cybersecurity solutions and learn how to address customer needs in areas such as networking and security with this knowledge. You’ll primarily work with contacts ranging from system admins to network architects, CIOs, CTOs, security analysts, and CISOs.

Those with prior inside sales experience, account management experience, sales administration experience, or those with a Sales Development Representative (SDR) background looking to make a move into account management, are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

You will identify, qualify, develop new prospects in the Southeast region, focusing on North and South Carolina initially

Recommend products and solutions to prospective customers that best suit their needs

Occasionally attend tradeshows and customer facing events to build strong relationships with clients and enhance brand recognition in the region

Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers

Prepare price quotation, work with partners on special pricing and managing margins and revenue objectives

Move quotes/sales proposals through the sales cycle to close/completion

Establish and maintain client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction

Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Eastern DataComm’s full products and service offerings

Develop and manage partner relationships to identify customer opportunities and ensure sales enablement

Ensure sales data is entered in a timely and accurate manner in the CRM

What You’ll Need

Inside sales and/or SDR prior experience required

Experience working with numbers, quotes and pricing data required

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook

Excellent organizational, telephone, written and verbal communication and conversational skills

Ability to learn and use our internal CRM tools

Ability to compose professional correspondence

Strong initiative; proactive approach

Ability to host virtual account meetings and sell virtually/remotely

Experience working toward/hitting/exceeding a financial quota

Prior enterprise or solution-based technology sales experience in B2B environment is preferred

Experience with IT-based solutions strongly preferred, including but not limited to any switching, routing, wireless, and/or security solutions

High level of initiative and drive – engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities

Candidate must have valid Driver’s license and transportation

Candidate must be a US citizen, and native English speaker (requirement due to contracts held)

Candidate must be able to pass a US DoD background check, if required

Essential Functions

Functioning as Inside Sales Specialist with account management of named accounts

Supporting outside sales team sales efforts including renewals, contract maintenance, and marketing

Ensuring high customer satisfaction

Communicating with customers for sales processes

Assisting as needed with customer-facing events throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic

Interacting with manufacturer partners throughout sales processes

Other Requirements

Must have own transportation

Candidate must be a US citizen and native English speaker (Due to the requirements of some of the federal contracts we service)

Candidate must be able to pass a federal DOD security background check, if required.

Must possess a high school diploma

Must have a valid driver’s license

Schedule and hours For full time positions, daily, you'd be working out of the Cary, NC office Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm.
