Job Overview
Lexia Learning, a leader in research‑proven literacy solutions, is seeking a dynamic and driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to accelerate our growth in the K–12 education market. As an SDR, you will be on the front line of our growth efforts in K–12 education and be the first point of contact for district leaders exploring how Lexia can improve student outcomes. Your role is to connect with districts and schools, engage prospects through personalized outreach, and secure qualified meetings for our sales team. Ideal SDRs will thrive in a fast‑paced environment, be passionate about education, provide a seamless handoff of qualified leads to sales, and work to exceed territory and larger organizational business goals.
Location Fully remote; must reside in the USA. Will be supporting districts in CA, AZ, OR, and WA and must be willing to work within this time zone.
Responsibilities
Research and identify key contacts at K–12 districts and schools
Execute high‑volume outbound outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels with personalized, value‑driven communication
Qualify prospects and schedule discovery meetings for the sales team
Maintain accurate records in CRM and track activity metrics
Analyze outreach performance and share insights from prospect interactions to improve messaging and targeting
Stay current on Lexia’s product offerings, competitive landscape, and K–12 education trends including ESSA, Title funding, and state literacy initiatives
Contribute to a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement
Responsible for identifying and engaging cold prospects across assigned territories
Measured by meetings booked, outreach volume, and conversion to pipeline
Work closely with Account Executives to align outreach with territory strategy and ensure smooth handoff
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
1–2+ years of experience in a client‑facing position with a passion for sales engagement
3+ years of sales or lead development experience preferred
Experience using CRM and other technical platforms, Salesforce.com highly preferred
Proficient use of Google Suite or MS Office Suite
Embrace technology and AI‑powered tools to streamline sales processes and improve productivity
Proactively adopt new platforms and workflows that enhance efficiency and customer engagement
Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage high activity levels and stay organized in a CRM environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills—confident, clear, and empathetic
Curiosity and persistence in building relationships and uncovering needs
Comfortable with rejection and persistent in building new relationships
Team player who thrives on collaboration with marketing and sales
Self‑motivated with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn
Understanding of educational needs and technology trends in the K‑12 education space
