Overview Management Trainee - Sales at Mountaire Farms. This is a structured 6-month program designed to develop future leaders by providing hands-on experience in key areas of the business. Two cohorts are offered annually, with classes starting in January and June.

Program Structure First 3 months – Rotational Experience: Trainees rotate through critical departments to gain an understanding of end-to-end operations and vertical integration. Departments may include Live Operations, Processing Operations, Sales, HR, Accounting, IT, Transportation, Procurement, and other support areas.

The goal is to provide a comprehensive view of how these departments interact and contribute to the company’s success.

Last 3 months – Capstone Project: Each trainee focuses on a specific functional area, developing and executing a capstone project addressing a key business challenge or opportunity. The project culminates in a presentation to senior leadership and the next cohort of trainees.

Post-Program Placement After the 6-month program ends, trainees will be placed in available positions within their functional area. If no position is immediately available, the trainee will continue in their current capacity until a suitable role becomes available. Sales Trainees may fill roles such as Sales Representatives, Account Managers, Customer Success Specialists, and other related positions.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Participate in hands-on training across multiple business functions

Engage with cross-functional teams to understand operational workflows and business processes

Collaborate with department leaders to identify and work on strategic business initiatives

Design, develop, and present a capstone project to senior leadership

Build relationships with employees at all levels and actively participate in the business culture

Attend leadership and development workshops to enhance personal and professional skills

Complete weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly reports as required

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Recent graduate with a degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field with a focus on Business

Strong interest in a career in sales, management, and leadership

0 - 2 years' experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to collaborate effectively and listen actively

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ownership

Inquisitive mindset with technical aptitude and learning agility

Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Must be willing to travel to different facilities throughout the program (DE & NC)
