Position Summary We are seeking a self-motivated and articulate customer-focused inside sales professional who desires to grow their career with the largest independent electrical distributor in New England. The Inside Salesperson is often the first impression and introduction to the customer experience, with the goal of creating lasting customer relationships. Preference will be given to those who have knowledge of electrical applications and layout, Square D products, Eclipse software and EPEC Certification.

Essential Functions

Work with the account base to grow incrementally and develop new accounts.

Develop and execute a growth plan with the Branch Manager; be highly articulate and influential with excellent sales and service skills.

Coordinate with counter contractor sales, outside sales and management regarding orders, customer status, history, changes, potential, quotations and related sales information.

Receive and process customer inquiries, purchase orders, back orders, credits, return authorizations, price increases and other sales-related functions in a timely manner.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing for all customer information (special orders, quotations, pricing, purchase orders, vendor pricing, catalogs, etc.).

Maximize sales and profitability by understanding the marketplace and competition, negotiating favorable costs from vendors, and achieving competitive selling prices.

Participate in training classes, seminars, and meetings to enhance Granite City Electric’s market position.

Education And/or Experience

High School diploma, or equivalent; some college or vocational experience preferred.

Previous sales experience required.

Previous electrical distribution experience preferred; business, construction or electrical industry exposure.

Compensation

Hourly rate based on experience, plus commission.
