The Key Account Manager obtains and develops wine sales in the assigned territory for key accounts, including acquiring new business accounts and upholding Johnson Brothers’ high standard of service to accounts. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication, organizational skills, works independently, and builds strong relationships within the territory. Responsibilities
Personally call on accounts in the assigned geographic territory to promote the portfolio Prospect and open new accounts Anticipate and evaluate customer needs and suggest products accordingly Develop sales and product knowledge to effectively educate and taste accounts on products Regularly meet and exceed sales goals and quotas Use strong business acumen to protect the interests of Johnson Brothers, supplier partners, and customers Manage time effectively to meet order deadlines and delivery cutoffs Communicate professionally with buyers to resolve issues timely Demonstrate leadership and entrepreneurial qualities Attend and participate in regular team sales meetings Present publicly about products, events, or training sessions Maintain a clean driving record and a current, valid state driver’s license Wine knowledge, distribution, and sales experience are highly preferred Ensure accounts are current on payments and collect payments when necessary Organize supplier market work and communicate professionally during all market activities Treat all employees, management, vendors, and customers with respect at all times Respond to buyer requests and inquiries with urgency and timeliness Work nights and weekends on promotions and other account activities as needed Obtain and/or maintain a valid state liquor license if required Qualifications
High School Diploma required Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent experience considered Strong persuasive presentation skills, including public speaking before large audiences Proficient in Microsoft Office Background or experience in the beverage or restaurant/bar industry a plus Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry, wine and spirits terms, and production processes Passion for wine and spirits with ability to learn new brands and represent effectively to customers Physical exertion ability to lift products from 25–50 lbs regularly Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and minimum insurance coverage Must be 21 years of age or older in Texas Promote a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism to coworkers and customers Adhere to equal opportunity and non-discrimination policies Reliable attendance required for regular hours, shifts, and weekends as needed Complete and pass a criminal background check Travel & Flexibility
