Job Overview As a Cosmetic Sales Colleague—also known as a Beauty Advisor—you are the trusted expert customers turn to for all things beauty. Passionate about both products and people, you create a personalized, inspiring shopping experience that builds confidence and drives sales.
You’ll serve as an educator and beauty expert — offering expert advice, conducting product demonstrations, and providing tailored consultations that include makeup application and skincare recommendations. With deep product knowledge and current trend awareness, you introduce customers to new items and innovations that match their unique needs and style. Building lasting client relationships is at the heart of your role; you proactively grow and manage a loyal client base through consistent follow‑up, virtual outreach, and personalized service—always aiming to exceed expectations and achieve sales goals.
Responsibilities
Begin each day energized, wearing your name badge with pride, greeting teammates warmly, and ensuring the sales floor is clean, organized, and prepared for customers.
Review sales goals, learn about new arrivals and top‑selling items, stay updated on current trends and promotions, and engage, educate, and sell with confidence.
Provide a warm welcome, eye contact, friendly and personal conversations to build customer relationships and bring them back.
Maintain a shoppable space by keeping the counter and floor tidy, refreshing signage and pricing, and assisting with merchandise moves as needed.
Share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have everything they need, and finish each interaction with a sincere thank‑you, often walking the package and using the customer’s name.
Support teammates with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and communities.
Pursue continuous improvement, take pride in your work, achieve sales goals, and learn from each other to deliver individual and store results.
Qualifications
Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance and punctuality.
Effective communication with customers, co‑workers, and supervisors.
Read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English.
Deliver personalized beauty experiences by building relationships, uncovering needs, demonstrating product application, and educating on benefits.
Drive sales and client loyalty by maintaining an organized space, leveraging clienteling tools, participating in sales events, and staying current through training.
Meet and surpass daily sales goals with exceptional service.
Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits.
Use point‑of‑sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience.
At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience required.
Essential Physical Requirements
This position requires talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
Stand for at least two consecutive hours, lift up to 25 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, reach above eye level.
Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment, cash register, and transaction processing.
