The Sales Representative for Pacific Alaska Wholesale (PAW), the wholesale arm of the North West Company International (NWCI) is accountable to lead the profitable sales growth of our wholesale business in Alaska within the strategic directions and tasks provided by the VP of Wholesale. Acting as the face of our brand, this representative ensures the careful representation of PAW and Alaska Commercial Company (ACC) by thoughtfully identifying each of our new wholesale partners. This role prioritizes in personalized engagement with business owners and purchasers who may be a good fit for a wholesale partnership. The day-to-day work includes effective prospecting and development of new sales opportunities, responding to inbound web or email inquiries promptly, and conducting sales calls and in-person meetings with potential partners. This role is also a focal point within the wholesale program as a whole, and largely personifies the overall direction of our visible brand presence within Alaska.

Key Accountabilities
Identify and secure new customers for our wholesale business
Conduct research to identify best prospects; continuously look for new business opportunities
Meet with business owners or managers to assess needs and determine how PAW can serve them
Build and maintain a network of businesses to increase sales
Process all orders received daily via phone, fax, or email
Sales Management
Analyze past sales trends, forecast future sales, and plan required model mix to meet store targets for top-end sales and bottom-line profit
Direct accountability for sales and profit of PAW operations
Create materials that enable stores to sell products (cheat sheets, product files, sell sheets, handbills, add-on files, etc.)
Create sales plans by model type for each region; include brands, key selling periods, opening order quantities, promotions, competitor analysis, and in-season monitoring to ensure that the plan is met
Continuously report on market activities
Monitor competitors, market conditions, and product development, making adjustments as needed
Assist businesses with merchandising ideas and special orders; offer new products and promote monthly specials
Stay up to date on all changes in the market and seasonal needs of customers
Create advertising and promotions to drive sales
Promote community relations
Attend local community events, trade shows, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and charity events
Effectively represent PAW and AC brands through engagement and outreach within the Alaskan community
Maintain sales tracking and documentation
Demonstrate weekly completion of sales activity goals, leading to the assignment of results-based sales goals
Track sales increases/decreases for each business for analysis and formulate plans to continue growth
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and a minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred
High school diploma or GED; or equivalent education and experience
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office 2007 and above
Intermediate computer abilitiesPrevious sales, retail, or hospitality experience is a must; must be able to sell and make appropriate recommendations to customers
Ability to meet all country or region immigration regulations and have valid documents
Self-motivated to work quickly and efficiently to complete tasks within time limits
Ability to correctly manage time to meet deadlines and targets
Ability to quickly adapt to new working environments, situations, and cultures
A positive attitude
Ability to relate and align all duties, customer interactions, and other activities to an underlying business purpose
Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Knowledge of rural Alaska shipping methods and Alaska Native Corporations is a plus
Working Conditions
Work in office and warehouse environment
Ability to lift 25+ lbs
Work extended hours several days a week
Fast-paced office environment
Ability to sit or stand in one place for long periods of time
Multiple phone calls and meetings daily/weekly
Work in an open-area office environment
Travel throughout rural Alaska up to 40% of the year, sometimes in extreme weather conditions
