
Position Summary
The Sales Development Representative plays a critical role in the SaaS sales funnel by identifying, contacting, and qualifying inbound and outbound prospects. This role is focused on early-stage pipeline development and works closely with Account Executives and Marketing to drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
Prospect and Qualify Leads:
Research and reach out to potential customers via email, phone, LinkedIn, and other channels.
Execute cold outreach strategies to generate meetings and demos with target personas (e.g., IT leaders, finance execs, operations).
Respond promptly to inbound interest, conduct discovery calls, and assess fit before passing to sales.
CRM Management:
Track activity, leads, and engagement in platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Outreach.io.
Work closely with Account Executives to coordinate follow-ups, target accounts, and feedback loops.
Qualification Criteria:
Use frameworks such as BANT, CHAMP, or MEDDIC to evaluate opportunities.
Response and engagement rates
1+ years of sales or business development experience (preferably in SaaS)
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Tech-savvy with CRM and sales engagement tools
Resilient, competitive, and coachable mindset
Understanding of SaaS business models and recurring revenue
Curious and consultative in approach
Goal-driven, process-oriented, and metrics-focused
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup or high-growth environment
