Overview The District Sales Manager - The Home Depot (DSM-THD) is responsible for overseeing all sales conducted through The Home Depot in the assigned territory (Utah, Idaho, Montana); growing topline sales and achieving budget goals; owning the sales skills and performance of sales team members. The DSM provides leadership and management for their market and sales team to successfully accomplish these objectives, while adhering to Tuff Shed management policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day performance, outcomes, and KPIs of the Area Sales & Design Specialists (ASDS) and Selling Center Design Specialists (SCDS) in the assigned district.

Provide on-the-ground support for the sales team to maximize lead generation and close sales.

Train, observe, coach, and role-play with ASDSs and SCDSs to ensure selling behaviors align with Solution-Based Selling.

Coordinate and approve sales team PTO, weekend coverage, and special event coverage to maximize efficiency and sales potential.

Conduct monthly pipeline reviews and CRM usage checks; provide 1:1 and group training as needed.

Manage the employee life cycle of all sales personnel in the district: recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and corrective action as needed.

Build and elevate relationships with Home Depot field and store leaders; collaborate to improve lead generation and sales, including event planning and execution.

Maintain partnership with factory GM/DM on production, install scheduling, pricing, display, and customer concerns.

Assist and coach ASDS/SCDS in developing business relationships with HD store teams and district field leadership.

Attend weekend or special Home Depot events to provide support and coach performance.

Review potential cancellations and take action to prevent loss of a sale.

Use business reporting tools and CRM software to assess trends, conduct root-cause analysis, and develop action plans to improve performance and achieve sales goals.

Conduct Home Depot store visits with sales team members and lead regular sales meetings; participate in regional and national sales calls/meetings.

Optimize travel schedules for efficiency and engagement with sales teams and Home Depot.

Perform additional duties as assigned by Tuff Shed management.

Qualifications

Some overnight travel required, up to 70% within territory.

Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.

Proven experience in B2C sales (and sales management) in large-ticket products preferred.

Hands-on computer skills (Microsoft Office, internet applications) and experience with CRM software (Salesforce or similar); access via laptop or smartphone.

Experience with business reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar.

Strong communication skills with all levels of stakeholders.

Ability to coach sales behaviors and draw actionable conclusions to improve performance.

Problem-solving skills using data, logic, and good judgment.

Ability to lead and improve performance of a remote sales team.

Ability to read, write, and understand instructions; prepare written correspondence and reports.

Ability to use mathematical, accounting, and financial tools as they apply to the business.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor’s degree or requisite experience
