Community Engagement Manager: Asian Community
Community Health Marketing (CHM) is seeking several Community Engagement Managers (CEM) to conduct outreach activities, develop strategic partnerships and manage educational health initiatives to support racial and ethnic communities disproportionately affected by certain health issues.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a background in health care who is passionate about addressing health disparities. CHM is seeking candidates with strong ties and connections to the selected community including community organizations, health care professionals, advocacy groups, and media outlets. The following CEM positions are open:
Hispanic Community Engagement Manager (Fluency in English & Spanish required)
Asian Community Engagement Manager (Fluency in English & Cantonese/Mandarin required)
Black/African American Community Engagement Manager
Core Responsibilities
The Community Engagement Manager will focus on four areas:
Community Outreach & Engagement
Identify, engage, and secure collaborations and partnerships with target segment
community organizations
to promote health education initiatives.
Identify, vet, and build relationships with
health care professionals/doctors
who serve the target community
Identify, vet and conduct 1:1 interviews with
doctors and patients
from the target community to ensure diversity and representation in market insights and clinical trials
Identify, recruit, and vet doctors and patients for
advisory boards , and coordinate the meetings
Event Execution
Execute in-person and/or virtual educational health events in Hispanic, Asian, or Black/African American communities across the United States to raise awareness about risk factors, health screenings, treatments, and clinical trials
Execute educational events for health care professionals who practice within these same communities
Promotion and Media Relations
Coordinate earned media coverage and paid promotion with key target segment and/or target language media outlets
Work with corporate communications to coordinate social media promotion and target segment engagement
Information Management and Reporting
Collaborate closely with creative team to accurately update support materials such as flyers and presentations
Accurately capture and record contacts and status updates in the CRM system (Hubspot)
Collect and track results of outreach activities and prepare final reports
Preferred Skills
Familiar with clinical studies review and referencing
Familiar with disease state research
Moderate understanding of science vis a vis health care
Comfortable reaching out to doctors/patients and having science‑based conversations to gain insights
Excellent networker with existing contacts in the target segment community
Experience collaborating with community organizations, medical associations, cultural centers, and advocacy groups
Experience using CRM platforms and adept at logging information accurately and on a timely basis
Must be proactive, detail oriented and highly organized
Travel may be required for attending in-person and virtual meetings and conferences with the goal of securing collaborations and partnerships.
