Austin Achieve Public Schools is a tuition-free, open-enrollment public charter school district preparing Austin & Pflugerville youth to attend and excel at the nation’s top colleges and universities. The Events & Corporate Relations Specialist works in close coordination with the Senior Director of Development to execute fundraising strategy and hit annual targets through corporate giving solicitation and annual fundraising events. The Events & Corporate Relations Specialist will support operational and supplemental fundraising efforts at the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Event Management (35%)

Develop and implement an annual events calendar that aligns with fundraising goals and budget. This includes setting revenue targets, creating event concepts, and developing detailed project plans

Manage all event logistics, including venue selection, vendor contracts (auctioneers, caterers, audiovisual, entertainment, etc.), permit applications, run of show, and a timeline for all event-related activities

Create and manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure events are cost-effective and profitable

Execute event promotion strategies, including invitations, email campaigns, social media content, and press releases

Conduct thorough post-event evaluations, including financial analysis, attendee feedback, and recommendations for future improvements

Corporate Relations (35%)

Actively research and identify new corporate prospects that align with the organization's mission

Prepare and present compelling sponsorship proposals to corporate partners. Manage relationships to ensure sponsor expectations are met and to foster long-term partnerships

Draft and manage all sponsorship agreements, ensuring timely billing and the fulfillment of all promised benefits (e.g., logo placement, speaking opportunities, promotional mentions)

Track all corporate contributions and activities in the donor database and provide regular reports to management on progress toward sponsorship goals

Additional Responsibilities (30%)

Co-lead volunteer coordination efforts for fundraising and community events, including recruitment, training, and on-site management alongside Development Specialist

Participate actively in all team meetings, staff meetings, and Austin Achieve fundraising events

Participate in professional development that will be strategic to the work of Austin Achieve

Support Senior Director of Development in strategic decision making upon request

Use Salesforce proficiently alongside Development Team

Use Google Suite proficiently alongside Development Team

Skills & Qualifications

Experience planning and executing fundraising events

Experience developing relationships with corporate partners and cultivating meaningful connections for corporate leaders, employees, and volunteers

Expert project manager with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-priority projects at one time and meet deadlines

Passionate about education reform and the belief that every child can be successful

Financial savvy and experience creating, managing, and staying within a budget

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interface effectively with a variety of people

Demonstrated strong attention to detail

Excellent organizational skills

A high degree of proficiency in computer applications, including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Canva, and fundraising/donation management software

Ability to participate in occasional evening and weekend events

Required/Preferred Experience

Bachelor’s degree required

2+ years fundraising experience preferred
