Job Function Sales and Business Development
Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day activities of client accounts, including policy review, changes and updates, contract reviews, renewal document preparation, marketing and negotiating insurance programs, and financial statements related to client insurance.
Assist in establishing and maintaining appropriate carrier relationships.
Maintain client files accurately and consistently; document files properly and communicate in accordance with company workflows, procedures, and best practices.
Manage client inquiries and collaborate with insurance partners and internal teams to resolve client issues.
Know the requirements and attributes of all insurance company partners and maintain in‑depth knowledge of the company and its resources.
Coordinate service delivery for accounts, including developing initial placement/renewal strategy.
Stay informed on regulatory changes.
Complete special projects as assigned.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve the firm, business segment and processes; bring issues and discrepancies to appropriate leadership.
Serve as a mentor to colleagues as requested.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Forge relationships with key insurance markets and carrier representatives.
Strong technical knowledge of general insurance market conditions and specific insurance carrier underwriting appetites.
Strong Excel skills; create and manage large spreadsheets of data.
Analyze complex risk exposures and existing insurance coverages, and develop appropriate recommendations for clients and prospects.
Work as part of a team of professionals and build relationships with other firm business segments.
Education & Experience
At least 4 years of related insurance experience or associated industry experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Obtain and maintain a state insurance license(s) as required by the State Department of Insurance; be willing and able to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment.
