The Business Development Executive (BDE) will focus on customer acquisition, lead generation, and prospect management as this role will garner and meet with potential clients. The BDE will be responsible to research client business referrals, network, and web leads; provide prospective customers/ clients will all services offered and additional presentations as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Initiate exploratory calls with customers

Understand buyer personas and the needs and “pains” of our target market

Generating and qualifying leads by cold-calling, cold-emailing, and social selling

Coordinate with Sales team to create mutually beneficial proposals

Keeping accurate and up to date notes and client information in the CRM software

Develop and maintain relationships with new clients, dealers, contractors, and end-users (potentially large national accounts)

Brainstorming and executing new strategies for our target market

Know and apply industry standards including UL325, F2200, ASTM F2656; keep up to date on trends and news from the industry, our competitors, and target market

Conduct regular Lunch and Learns

Networking, face-to-face meetings, and any other activities that help to generate and close leads

Attend Trade Shows

Maintain weekly expense reports

Maintain a calendar of pre-set calls, tasks/follow ups, and appointments; report on progress of calls and develop follow up strategies as needed.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed to accomplish goals and objectives

Demonstrate a sustained true hunter mindset with an unrelenting drive to identify, pursue, and wind new business opportunities across target markets.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver presentations about our products and services

Regularly communicate and collaborate with other members of the Business Development and Sales department to discuss processes and procedures as well as identify areas of improvement

Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

Qualifications Education and/or Experience

Associate’s degree and three (3) to five (5) years business development or sales experience; or High School Diploma or GED with six (6) or more years of experience in the business development or sales field. Experience with lead generation and prospect management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect, and interact with potential customers. Persuasive and goal oriented. Possess an energetic, outgoing and friendly demeanor. Able to professionally and confidential communicate with C-Level executives. Excellent time manager and analytical skills, demonstrated and proven sales results.

Personal Protective Equipment The person performing this job function is required to wear safety glasses with side shields at any time that they are performing any duties in the production area of the shop. Safety shoes should be worn when on the production floor; open toe shoes and sandals are not permitted in the production areas of the shop.

Physical Demands and Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment with frequent interaction on a production floor. The Business Development Executive routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and printers. May occasionally need to balance, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, reach, reach above shoulder, squat and engage in repetitive motions. May occasionally be required to enter shop floor where personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, involving exposure to inside and outside heat/cold/wet/humid or dry conditions. The noise level in the work environment will vary and can occasionally be moderate to loud when on the production floor. The individual must be able to navigate both office and industrial environments safely and effectively.
