Experienced Civil EIT - Transportation/Traffic Location: Jacksonville, Florida (FL). 1 day ago – the first 25 applicants will be considered. This is not a remote position.

Overview Kimley‑Horn’s Jacksonville office seeks a Civil Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join the Transportation/Traffic team.

Responsibilities

Perform traffic engineering and project‑management tasks for a variety of transportation planning, transit, traffic engineering, safety, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) projects.

Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for personal growth while contributing to the practice’s overall success.

Assist in managing projects profitably.

Engage in hands‑on practice and delivery of projects.

Transition work to qualified staff.

Act as a positive leader and mentor.

Contribute to marketing and business development efforts, pursuing leads and clients independently.

Perform a variety of engineering tasks and receive on‑the‑job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.

Qualifications

2+ years of traffic engineering experience, which may include preparing and/or reviewing traffic impact studies for small and large projects, parking studies, and site access and circulation studies.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an ABET‑accredited university in Civil Engineering.

Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Experience with Synchro, VISSIM, and/or other traffic analysis software.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent technical writing and detail orientation.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
