We are seeking a results-driven Sales leader for Nussbaum’s Open Deck Services. In this position, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and profitability of our Open Deck portfolio. Our ideal candidate will lead an effective Open Deck growth strategy by understanding the market needs & Nussbaum’s best-in‑class capabilities and value proposition. Nussbaum is a faith‑based trucking company located in Central IL. We are employee‑owned and have a unique culture that seeks to positively impact the lives of all we come in contact with. Ownership:
This candidate will own the Sales and with the support of Business Analytics, the profitability of the Open Deck division. They will be the go‑to person for the P&L of this business unit.
Business Development:
Grow our Open Deck business unit. Using our tools & resources – engage in generating leads, focused networking, and industry events to build a solid pipeline.
Relationship Management:
Establish, grow, and maintain long‑term relationships. This would include frequent visits to retain and grow with new and existing accounts.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and execute sales strategies that align with company goals. This would also include interest marketing and working with operations and the shop to scale to our goals.
Market Analysis:
Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions to effectively position and sell our Open Deck services.
Proposal and Contract Management:
Work closely with the operations and pricing teams to prepare accurate proposals and negotiate contracts that meet both customer and company objectives.
Collaboration with Operations:
Coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of service and maintain customer satisfaction. Address any service issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Sales Reporting:
Use tools like Salesforce and Homegrown software to provide regular updates to management regarding sales progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Schedule
Full time: Monday-Friday, 7am – 4:30pm
Location: Corporate Offices – 19336 N 1425 East Rd., Hudson IL.

Experience & Qualifications
BA or equivalent experience in business, marketing, or finance.
Experience in the transportation & logistics industry with a strong understanding of Open Deck services.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decision‑makers at all levels.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify business opportunities and market trends.
Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales tools.
Understanding of P&Ls and how to impact profits.
Willingness to travel.
