Position Function Assist with all dairy processing operations. Responsible for packaging and shipping of cheese.
SUPERVISION Position receives supervision from the Assistant Dairy Plant Manager.
Position gives supervision and instructions to Dairy Plant employees and student workers as assigned by the Dairy Plant Manager.
Maintenance and preventive maintenance of all equipment.
Daily basic and maintenance operations of the ammonia and freon refrigeration systems.
Daily maintenance and operation of the boiler.
Assist in all processing positions in absence of other employees due to illness or vacations.
Responsible for packaging and shipping large volumes of cheese during Christmas and Easter seasons.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Five years of experience operating dairy processing equipment or experience in Licensure: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL). driver's license.
Subject to random drug tests which indicate an absence of illegal controlled substance use.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain Commercial Driver's license within 6 months of employment.
Once CDL is obtained, must complete drug tests which indicate and absence of illegal controlled substance use.
Ability to perform mathematic calculations.
Ability to read gauges and graphs and record handwritten information.
Completion of drug tests which indicate an absence of illegal controlled substance use.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Ability to wear steel toed boots for ten (10) hours a day.
Frequently lift 100 pounds.
Ability to stoop and bend for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and stack cheese in stacks up to twelve (12) feet high
