Requirements The
Associate Director of Finance & Accounting
will oversee the Chamber’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance across all financial activities. This role is responsible for managing bookkeeping, maintaining records of income and expenses, preparing financial summaries for leadership, and supporting the annual budgeting and reporting process. The position requires attention to detail, integrity, and a strong understanding of nonprofit financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records for all income, expenses, and member transactions.
Reconcile bank statements, track deposits, and monitor outgoing payments.
Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports for leadership review.
Collaborate with the Treasurer and President to develop and monitor the Chamber’s annual budget.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial best practices and applicable state and federal requirements.
Coordinate with committees on budget allocations, event expenses, and reimbursements.
Assist in preparing records for annual filings and financial reviews.
Recommend process improvements for financial efficiency and transparency.
This is a
volunteer position.
Qualifications
Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management (nonprofit experience preferred).
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Wave, or Xero.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Understanding of nonprofit financial procedures or willingness to learn.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
