Eaton’s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking an Outside Sales Engineer. Candidates must live within 50 miles of North Little Rock, AR (relocation assistance offered for outside locations).
Position Overview The primary function is to market and sell Eaton’s products and services to obtain profitable orders. This includes sales of electrical components for distribution and controls, managing the assigned customer base, increasing local sales, and providing application guidance and technical assistance to customers and accredited distributors.
Responsibilities
Build and own relationships with key customers and channel partners to enhance long‑term business prospects.
Learn and understand business models to develop and execute sales plans meeting performance expectations.
Collaborate and leverage channel partners to execute business objectives.
Canvas the market to gain insight and adjust to changing pricing and delivery requirements.
Use corporate tools and business analytics to drive data‑based decisions about account opportunities and growth.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with product lines, operations, and other internal stakeholders to provide customer‑centric solutions.
Lead technical presentations at customer forums and local technical associations.
Proactively work with factories to resolve technical issues while working with customers to resolve quality issues.
Assist the team to develop a coordinated sales effort while keeping management informed of market conditions.
Quote projects and negotiate accurate required pricing.
Obtain ongoing training on both functional and technical skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum one year of experience in the electrical industry (or two internships).
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Skills
Excellent communication skills.
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
Adaptability to diverse situations with exceptional sales proficiency across key customer services and applications.
Basic knowledge of electrical products.
Time‑management skills.
Negotiating skills and techniques needed to close orders.
Ability to prepare sales proposals that meet customer expectations.
Experience utilizing value‑added selling techniques.
Strong work ethic, competitiveness, willingness to learn, and adept at building relationships.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Compensation The compensation range for this full‑time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive, with a target total compensation range of $81,750 – $119,900. Base salaries depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
