Overview
CRi - Community Residences, Inc. is hiring a Housing Specialist to provide essential support to individuals living in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) units. Join our mission to empower individuals and foster community engagement. This role supports people in achieving independence and stability, with a focus on Housing First principles. What You’ll Do
Direct Support: Work hands-on with individuals in PSH units, helping them develop independent living skills and maintain their apartments. Service Planning: Assist individuals in locating suitable housing, complete assessments, and create personalized Housing Plans tailored to each person’s strengths and needs. Skills Development: Facilitate training programs on life skills, social determinants of health, and community engagement. Support individuals with obtaining legal documentation, income and budgeting needs. Crisis Intervention: Identify behavioral changes early and provide timely support to prevent crises. Collaborative Relationships: Build partnerships with PSH teams, landlords, and community agencies to ensure housing stability. Key Responsibilities
Implement the Housing Plan with the individual through housing research, application processes, lease-up, and move-in; provide on-site apartment support and community engagement. Develop and implement individualized service plans. Maintain effective documentation in compliance with regulations and CRi policies. Teach essential skills for housing maintenance and independent living. Assess and adapt to the needs of individuals, fostering supportive relationships. Schedule & Location
Monday - Friday, 10am-6pm (flexible hours; some weekend hours may be required) Locations: Fairfax and Prince William Counties Requirements
What You Bring: A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. A Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (social work or counseling preferred). At least one year of experience in assessments, service plan development, and working with individuals with SMI and I/DD diagnoses. Strong understanding of treatment modalities, crisis intervention techniques, and community resources. Physical Demands
