Overview
Looking to make an real impact while working independently in the field? As a Property Field Claims Adjuster, you’ll take the lead in inspecting damage to residential, commercial, and farm properties, determining coverage, and negotiating fair settlements. You’ll be the face of the company, helping policyholders navigate the claims process with clarity and confidence. Your territory will encompass beautiful Northeast WI – Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Oneida, & Vilas Counties. We’ll equip you with a company vehicle, phone, and laptop—so you have everything you need to succeed on the go.
Responsibilities
Inspect property damage on-site from incidents like fires, floods, storms, or accidents; document findings thoroughly.
Review insurance policies and claim details to determine coverage, liability, and settlement amounts.
Compile detailed reports with photos, measurements, and repair estimates; maintain accurate records throughout the claims process.
Communicate professionally and empathetically with policyholders and stakeholders, addressing inquiries and guiding them through the claims process.
Negotiate fair settlements with policyholders, contractors, and third parties, clearly explaining coverage terms and deductibles.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., underwriting, legal, agents) to ensure accurate claim assessments and policy compliance.
Stay current on insurance laws, regulations, and industry standards; ensure all actions comply with guidelines.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as insurance, risk management, or construction, or equivalent work experience, may be considered.
Minimum of three years of experience as a Property Adjuster, preferably in a field-based role. Familiarity with property insurance policies, claim investigation techniques, and industry-standard software for documenting and estimating.
Solid understanding of construction principles and building materials.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess property damage accurately, evaluate coverage, and negotiate settlements effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with policyholders, claimants, and internal stakeholders. Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Strong customer service skills with a focus on providing a positive experience to policyholders throughout the claims process. Ability to handle challenging conversations and demonstrate empathy when dealing with individuals who have experienced property damage.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple claims simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, such as climbing ladders, walking on roofs, working inside collapsed/burnt structures, walking on uneven terrain, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with cause and origin experts.
Experience in handling recovery processes, including subrogation, contribution, and salvage.
Familiarity with multi-line claims adjusting.
HAAG Certification.
Compensation $65,000 - $80,000 yearly
