Overview Community Education Coordinator - 252268

Organization: Southwest Prevention Center

Job Location: Onsite

Schedule: Full-time, 8am-5pm M-F

Salary Range: Negotiable based on experience

Responsibilities

Oversee, plan, and coordinate pre-service, continuing education, and community education programs related to substance misuse prevention and suicide prevention; coordinate interfaces between these programs.

Develops and adapts resources to support and promote education programs.

Conduct activities needed to support needs assessments and evaluations related to education programs.

Plan support strategies for pre-service, continuing education, and community education initiatives.

Establish partnerships with partner organizations.

Manage support for the development and implementation of training resources.

Develop new orientation materials for partner groups and modify current orientation and promotion materials for use with partner groups and consultants.

Coordinate internal and external partner activities; develop mechanisms for integrating needs assessments and ongoing review.

Provide editing and formatting to ensure that all products adhere to publication standards set by the organization and the University.

Develop and disseminate monthly communications and implement support for product dissemination plans.

Maintain data on dissemination of products; develop reports for grants, research projects, and other documents required for reporting on accomplishments.

Perform other duties as required or assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Qualifications Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or closely related field, AND:

24 months experience developing education products or related experience.

Equivalency/Substitution:

Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree for a total of 72 months experience.

Skills:

Skilled in educational or marketing program development and coordination.

Ability to develop educational or marketing products for various learners, use of multi-media strategies for educational products, and dissemination of information and materials.

Knowledge of adult learning strategies and methodology and interdisciplinary practices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with diverse groups in planning, developing, and evaluating products.

Skilled in grant writing and administration of grant-funded projects.

Certifications:

None

Physical/Additional Requirements

Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively. Use of a computer. Manual dexterity. Standard Office Environment.

Departmental Preferences

Experience working on a suicide prevention resource center project.
