Full Time - Evening Shift: 2:30-11:00PM - includes every other weekend and rotating holiday Great pay and benefits! Responsibilities
The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. Responsibilities include: Provide age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs per plan of care Assist with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, recording vital signs Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking using proper techniques and equipment Provide range of motion and passive exercises Assist with food preparation and dining; support meals and snacks as appropriate Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within state scope of practice Document care outcomes, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary information Communicate changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs Provide housekeeping and laundry assistance to maintain clean, functional living areas Support wellness and recreational programs and encourage resident participation Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required Minimum age 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred Yearly competency testing; 12 hours continuing education annually; maintain department certifications Valid driver's license and auto insurance if applicable State-specific CMA/CNA certifications and course requirements per state: Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota For all Good Samaritan Society locations: CMA or TMA certification as required by state; CNA certification typically prior to CMA/TMA Benefits
