Minimum Starting Salary:
$47,283.55 (Depending on Qualifications) This is a grant-funded position. The City of Waco Seeks: The City of Waco is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Housing Loan Coordinator to join our team. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or a related field, and 3 years’ experience with U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development grants such as CDBG/HOME, other federal grants, and/or homebuyer and/or home rehabilitation loan programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Texas Driver’s License required. Position Description: Supervises origination, processing, closing, and compliance post-closing of HUD grant program loans for the Housing & Community Development Department. Essential Functions: Coordinates the day-to-day operation of rehabilitation, lead abatement, and down payment assistance programs. Reviews all files for eligibility, accuracy, and completeness, ensuring issues are rectified prior to processing applications. Ensures applications are complete and accurate. Determines client eligibility (income, funds availability, etc.). Calculates the assistance amount available to clients. Prepares documents for commitments and schedules appointments for document execution, considering contractor workload and fund availability. Explains assistance conditions and program details to applicants at commitment. Prepares contractor payment requests and maintains accurate disbursement records. Prepares legal documents for closing and ensures all are complete before releasing funds. Maintains logs, records, and prepares reports. Orders environmental assessments and lead-based paint testing as needed. Provides technical guidance to prospective first-time homebuyers. Maintains logs and records as required. Offers excellent customer service to homeowners applying for housing programs. Provides training on HUD programs and procedures. Performs loan underwriting and ensures financial data accuracy in software. May respond after-hours during emergencies. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with policies and standards.
