Summary
The Scheduler plays a vital role in supporting project execution by developing, maintaining, and reporting on project schedules to ensure project predictability and efficiency. This position works closely with project managers, project controls leads, and other key stakeholders to track project progress and identify potential risks. The Scheduler utilizes scheduling software such as
Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
to manage timelines, resource allocation, and reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Schedule Development & Maintenance:
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
Incorporate resource and cost loading into schedules to manage project timelines effectively.
Project Monitoring & Reporting:
Track and report project progress, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Conduct Earned Value Analysis (EVA) to measure project performance against budget and schedule.
Identify and communicate Critical Path activities and potential scheduling risks.
Prepare and present 60‑day Look‑Ahead schedules to project teams.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with project teams to refine schedules and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Assist in schedule assurance reviews and incorporate feedback into project timelines.
Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders regarding schedule updates and risks.
Requirements
Knowledge of project scheduling best practices and ability to analyze scheduling data.
Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 for project scheduling and tracking.
Strong analytical and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams, including operations, management, and finance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presenting scheduling data.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
Minimum of 2‑5 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably within a similar industry.
Physical Examination Requirement Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre‑employment physical examination. This exam is essential to ensure that all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position. Completion and clearance of this physical are mandatory steps in the hiring process.
